What Can I Expect

Step back in time to the glamorous 1920's aboard the Belmond British Pullman! This is the Golden Age of rail travel, so it's time to dress to impress and experience true vintage luxury. Enjoy fine-dining and silver-service on a day trip through the Kent countryside, onboard the sister train to the Venice-Simplon Orient-Express.

Departing from London's Victoria Station, you'll revel in the superior standards of service all passengers on these special Belmond British Pullman lunch excursions receive. Everything is as you'd expect. Smart stewards waiting to greet you on the platform. Being shown personally to your tapestry armchair seat. Tables adorned with silk lamps, crisp white linen and bespoke crystal glassware.

Indeed, the train's history is brought back to life as your journey unfolds. These elegant Pullman carriages have transported such dignitaries as President de Gaulle, the late Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother, the late Queen Elizabeth II, as well as a special commission as Winston Churchill's funeral train.

For passengers on the circular Garden of England voyage, you will be treated to a five-course luncheon celebrating the quality of Kent food. From Romney Marsh lamb, to oysters from Whitstable and in-season produce from asparagus and beans, to cherries and apples, all accompanied by the finest Kent wines.

Those with a Golden Age of Travel ticket will be on a steam-hauled voyage. Nothing beats the rhythmic chuff-chuff sound of the loco with plumes of steam heralding your arrival. On this trip you will be heading through the likes of Faversham, Canterbury and Dover, allowing plenty of time for you to savour the five course meal served at your table.

Put simply, the food onboard is delicious. Freshly prepared and beautifully presented, there is no finer luncheon accompaniment to a journey on the Belmond British Pullman.

Setting off from central London mid-morning, you'll return late afternoon, having been utterly immersed in the sheer luxury of your excursion by rail. Any experience on a British Pullman is an indulgence, but these five course luncheon day trips on board the Belmond British Pullman are surely the voyages of a lifetime!
