Five Experience Days to Try in 2016

Here are IntoTheBlue.co.uk we are mad about all things experience days. As such, we have pulled together our collective creativity and thought about the type of activities that would be brilliant try in 2016. The result is this list of five fabulous days that you can tick off as you go along. Enjoy!

1 Skydiving

A favourite feature on many peoples bucket list is skydiving. Last year, a new skydiving world record was set when 164 people plunged from 7 planes in California – all holding hands to make a ring.

2 Segway Riding

Segway riding is a relatively inexpensive day out, but not one that immediately comes to mind when thinking about experience days. A Segway world record was set in 2011 in Potsdam Germany, when 119 people took part in the world’s largest Segway parade.

3 Climb the O2

The O2 Arena was originally opened in 2000, under its old name the Millennium Dome. Since being turned into a music venue it has housed some of the world’s most famous recording artists and showbiz stars; setting many records along the way. In 2015 Michael McIntyre broke the performance record on the stage, after completing his 27th show at the venue. You can also now achieve a personal feat of your own at the arena, or rather on top of it, by scaling it! You also get to see the sights of London at the same time, what more could you ask for?

4 Flying Lessons

Born out of the Biggin Hill Air Fair, IntoTheBlue has a great affiliation with aviation and flying – and what a great couple of years it’s given us. So far 2016 has been a great year for aviation. In particular was the achievements of Tracy Curtis-Taylor, who traced Amy Johnsons record-breaking biplane flight in the 1930 – flying from England to Australia. The battle of Britain also reached its 75th anniversary in 2015, and with it came an array of celebrations of the Spitfire. Off the back of all that, this year would make a great time to learn to fly. We’ve even put together a handy guide on the costs involved in training for your Private Pilots Licence – and where to get started.

5 Flyboarding

2015 was the year that saw the record for most Flyboards in the air smashed. At one point the professional flyboarding team that broke the record in Canada had 17 of the water jetpacks airborne. This is an experience that is proving more and more popular, so if you’re looking for something new to try in 2016, this could be a great day out!
