Two days learning to sail a dinghy out on the fresh water lake at Milton Keynes and we reckon you'll have cracked it by the end of the weekend!

This learn to sail course set in the heart of the UK in easily-accessible Milton Keynes, is designed for those with little or no sailing experience and will provide you with all the tuition needed to get yourself afloat under supervision.

It will give you a basic understanding of the boat handling techniques and background knowledge required to gain your Royal Yachting Association Level 1 Certificate, which you should succeed in doing by the end of your second day.

The course is held over two days. Qualified instructors will guide you through the basics of learning to sail through a combination of on land and on water teaching with a ratio of no more than 6:1. By the end of the course you will be competent and confident enough to sail one of the schools Laser Picos round a triangular course. Sessions run on selected weekdays and weekends, April to October with each day running from 09:15 to 13:30.


Minimum age 16.  Participants must be physically fit and be able to swim 50m. The centre will provide a life jacket and equipment.  You are advised to bring flat soled shoes or trainers which you don't mind getting wet, a towel and a change of clothes.


Spectators are welcome to come and watch. There are lots of facilities on site including showers, changing and toilet facilities. If you want to bring friends or family along they can entertain themselves and enjoy some of the many activities on offer including power boat rides, cable tow water skiing, mini golf, tennis, cycle hire and jogging circuits. There is a hotel, pub, restaurant and health club on site so there are plenty of places to take it easy and rest your weary sea legs!
