White Water Day, Scotland

Perthshire, near Aberfeldy

Experiences Flash element

For this wickedly fun white water day you get to choose two activities out of the three listed below. The first takes place in the morning between 1000 and 1300 and the second in the afternoon, starting at 1400 and finishing three hours later at 1700 giving you a full day of fun near Aberfeldy in Perthshire, Scotland.

White Water Rafting Aberfeldy to Grandtully - this half day trip is about six miles in distance and starts from the old market town of Aberfeldy. Here the river winds lazily along the Tay Valley, through rolling hills and stunning scenery. There's ample opportunity to practice your rafting skills on the rapids such as 'Zoom Flume' and the 'Washing Machine' before the trip ends at Grandtully.

River Bugging - is the perfect way to enjoy this wild part of Scotland, with its dramatic racing rivers and magnificent mountain scenery. There's an element of risk, of course, because the water is cold and fast, but with expert tuition and a ratio of one instructor to just four bug riders, you'll be safe as your daring instincts allow you to be! In fact, high water or otherwise, bugging is a thrill a minute - and not to be missed if you can keep a cool head when the spray is flying and the river is deep.

Canyon Scrambling - is a far cry from a ramble in the countryside as you find yourself climbing, diving and sliding your way through natural gorges and canyons in some of Scotland's most spectacular scenery.  There is a choice of routes depending on how big a challenge you are seeking.  Whichever you choose, it will be an experience that you will never forget - the call of the wild in some of the UK's remotest countryside.  Definitely only for individuals with a well developed spirit of adventure!

Allow a full day at the centre from 10:00 to 17:00. You will be provided with all the equipment you need, including wetsuits, safety helmets and buoyancy aids. Fully qualified instructors will provide a safety briefing and outline of the activity you are about to embark on.  With canyoning a few scratches and bruises are to be expected, but the activity is designed to be as safe and enjoyable as possible with a ratio of one instructor to just eight canyon scramblers. IntotheBlue offers a great selection of white water rafting experiences throughout Scotland and the rest of the UK, please visit the main white water rafting section for more information on this adrenalin filled activity.

Seven days per week, 12 months per year.

The minimum age is 14 years old.  Anyone under 16 must be accompanied by a participating adult.  You do not have to know how to swim, but you need to be confident in water. You will need a t-shirt and swimsuit to wear under your wetsuit and shoes that you don't mind getting wet and remember to take a couple of towels.

Due to the nature of the activity, it's not an experience suitable for spectators. Toilets, showers, changing facilities are available at the operator's centre.

Reasonably priced self-catering accommodation is available nearby.  This can be booked in advance through the operator. The operator can also advise on hotels and other accommodation options in the area, as well as a range of restaurants.
