Rapid running is the ideal white water activity for the truly independent spirit! The rapid runners used are actually open-topped inflatable canoes. Affectionately known as Duckies, they are designed to carry two and yes, you have to work as a team otherwise you both get very wet on the River Tay in Scotland indeed!

It's exciting, it's challenging and it's a boating experience that you'll never forget. It's also the logical next step up from rafting, because you're in control of your white water destiny and it will help build your confidence for other white water rafting activities, such as kayaking.

Allow spending up to three hours at the venue. You'll share your Duckie with another rider or an instructor. Expert tuition is given before heading onto the water and whilst you ride, the instructors are out on the water with you. There's an element of risk, of course because the water is cold and fast. With expert tuition and a ratio of one instructor to just four rapid runners, you'll be as safe as your daring instincts allow you to be! Don't forget to visit our main white water rafting page for more amazing experiences from IntotheBlue.
7 days per week, 12 months per year with half day sessions in the morning or afternoon, starting at 11:00 or 14:00.
River Tay, Aberfeldy, Perthshire
The minimum age for Rapid Running in 12 years old. All equipment is provided, but you will need to bring towels and swimwear to wear under your wetsuit and a pair of trainers you don't mind getting wet.
Spectators are welcome at no additional cost, although this is not an ideal spectator activity but there is a clubhouse with toilets and hot and cold food available on site.
Good quality and very reasonably priced accommodation is available on site (early booking is essential). There are also numerous hotels close-by that the operator can recommend.
