Take a powerboat taster in Southampton and go racing over the waves! These powerboats are truly amazing machines. Purpose-built for off-shore racing, these boats are seriously fast and incredibly manoeuvrable on the water.

This taster experience starts with full onshore safety briefing and then you'll get kitted out in a special powerboating jacket and life jacket. Climb aboard the racing powerboat and you'll set off at a gentle cruising pace along the river to the Solent estuary. Once you're on the open waters the speed restrictions are lifted and it's time to show you just what this powerboat can do.

The grace and pace of these race boats is simply amazing. Open her up and she goes. Wave jumping, super-tight cornering and precise racing lines - you'll experience it all around the off-shore circuit. As well as being driven in the boat, you'll also get a taster of what it's like to drive this amazing powerboat with you at the helm for a thrilling two laps of the open water powerboat circuit.

This powerboat taster experience sets sail from a professional marina in Southampton and you will be part of a small group of up to four in total on the day.

Your experience will begin with a safety briefing before being kitted out in your life jacket. You will board the powerboat and be taken on a short cruise down the river before the driver opens the throttle on the waves. The driver will demonstrate wave jumping, high speed cornering, racing lines and starts. You will then take the wheel for 2 laps of the circuit. Please allow for up to 2 hours at the centre. You will spend a minimum of one hour on the water. You will receive a complementary photograph of the boat at the end of your experience. You may be joining a group of up to 4 other participants.


Taster sessions are available on selected weekend dates from May to October.

The minimum age is 12 years. All under 18's must be accompanied by an adult. Maximum weight is 17 stone Please note this experience is not suitable for those with back, neck or heart complaints nor for pregnant women. Jeans/shorts and trainers/boats shoes are recommended.


Friends and family are welcome to watch you leave the venue as they relax and enjoy light refreshments available to purchase. There is free parking as well toilets, changing areas and catering facilities available onsite. Pets are welcome.
