The Hypercat is a fast, graceful and highly responsive powerboat, but like it's counterparts competing in the class one powerboat series, it commands respect from its driver. Find out for yourself when you learn to drive this super boat out of the Southampton harbour. With over twice the power of 'regular' four stroke powerboats and an 'air entrapment hull', you'll be powering effortlessly through water and air!

This powerboat driving experience is fantastic fun. You even get kitted out in authentic racing team kit and safety gear before you head out to sea. Your instructor (usually a current or past racer) will head out into the Solent to demonstrate just what the boat can do - and believe when we say it'll take your breathe away! You can also try one of our Zapcat experiences, these supersonic inflatables will soon prep you for the ride of your life! 

Not only do you get to whizz around the sea with a top notch boat pilot, but you can also expect to drive the zapcat yourself for a good 20 minutes, giving you plenty of chance to get the hang of high speed boat driving. You will even get the chance to test your skills on an offshore racing circuit. 

Allow spending two and a half hours at the venue. You will be onboard the Hypercat with up to three other people on the experience.



The experience is available on selected weekdays and weekends from April to October.


The marina is in Southampton.


You must be over 16 years old, at least 5ft tall and weigh no more than 17 stone to take part. Please note this experience is not suitable for those with a serious back, neck or heart complaint or for pregnant women. Please wear jeans or shorts and trainers or boating shoes. Please also bring a change of clothes - just in case. Waterproof jacket, life jacket and goggles are provided.


You are welcome to bring spectators to watch you depart from the quayside. There is a pub, cafe and restaurant on site.
