Windsurfing is a superb sport - accessible, fun and exhilarating, so no wonder it is continuing to grow in popularity. These weekend breaks in a stunning part of Cornwall, have been especially designed to offer great tuition, whether you are a beginner or someone who has already got to grips with the basics.
Our specialist centre is located in a spectacular cliff top setting within 10 acres of grounds, boasting fab views of the Atlantic ocean and the remote coastal cliffs. The windsurfing itself takes place on an inland lake just a few miles from the centre. About 80 acres in size, the lake offers an un-crowded setting and, picking up the best prevailing winds, is an ideal location to really get to grips and progress with the sport.
All coaches are Royal Yachting Association qualified to teach beginners up to upper intermediate guests. Group sizes are kept small to ensure quality of teaching. All the beginner equipment is already rigged so you can start windsurfing straight away. The centre has a wide range of boards from beginners through to upper intermediates and high-tech, high-end boards and sails.
Once you have mastered the basics of windsurfing, you might well be wanting to go for your RYA qualifications which can be done at the centre, as instructors are qualified to teach and assess RYA awards 1 to 3.
This weekend windsurfing break includes 2 nights accommodation (Friday and Saturday night). Accommodation is in the cliff top house and there are a variety of rooms available with bunk rooms, singles, twins and doubles. There are no supplements for single bookings. Some rooms are en-suite, or sharing toilets and showers and many benefit from sea views so you can wake up to the crashing of the ocean waves. All rooms are bright, heated, well-ventilated and have tea/coffee making facilities. The centre is cleaned every day.
The weekend package includes all meals from the Saturday breakfast through to Sunday lunch. There is an on site Boardriders bar and evening entertainment can be arranged - from BBQ's and cliff top fire to live music and beach games. The centre is only a 5 minute walk from the local pub/club and Bude town/seaside resort is only 4 miles away. If you prefer just to chill out in the evening you will love the cliff top benches, with spectacular sunset views across the ocean - if you are lucky you may catch sight of the dolphins!
The activities you choose are all offered subject to availability and weather. All equipment and instruction is included in the price and all instructors are fully qualified to lead and teach. Local transport to and from the activities is also included.
This experience is offered for 1 to 10 guests. The centre can accommodate up to 30 guests in total, making it an ideal choice for birthday, hen/stag weekends. For groups of 11 to 30, please contact our sales team and we will arrange a quote for you.
Windsurfing weekends run from Easter through to November. The weekend itself runs from Friday evening through to Sunday evening around 1730. You will be divided into groups for the activities, depending on total numbers at the centre. You will have two full days of activities on the Saturday and Sunday. Morning sessions run from 0930 to 1230 and afternoon sessions run from 1330 to 1630.
The breaks offered are very flexible and you don't need to be super-fit or a good swimmer to enjoy this weekend. Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Minimum age for activities varies. Assuming average height, the minimum age for windsurfing is 12 years old.
