Enjoy a visit to the world famous home of Wedgwood, which is set in 250 acres of lush parkland on the outskirts of Stoke-on-Trent, the area known as The Potteries. 

Here, treated as a very special guest, you will be able to experience over 250 years in the history of a world renowned name in ceramics.  A heritage that is still very much alive and working today.

Why not start your visit with a chance to see how it all began?  The Wedgwood Museum chronicles the life of one man, the company he founded and the people whose skills, artistry and ingenuity have for many generations kept Wedgwood at the forefront of taste and fashion.

Then it’s time for the Visitor Centre to marvel at the skills on show in our crafts demonstration area.  Take this opportunity to see how it is done at close quarters, meet and talk to the artisans at work. They will be happy to answer your questions and you will come away with a wealth of knowledge. The skills demonstrated by these elite craftspeople are truly breathtaking.  Some of the processes they use remain unchanged since the days of Josiah Wedgwood I.

Then try out some of these skills for yourself.  Discover your inner potter or decorate a plate … all under the close tuition of one of the master craftspeople.  They will help you every step of the way so don’t worry if you have never tried your hand at these skills before.  Your masterpiece will be fired, then sent on to you to keep forever!

As well as enjoying self-guided tours of the Visitor Centre and Museum, your ceramic experience day at Wedgwood also includes a tasty two course lunch in the restaurant.  All the food is home-cooked and, of course, served on fine Wedgwood china.

All experiences include a self-guided tour of the Wedgwood Visitor Centre and Museum, a 2 course waitress served lunch, the opportunity to throw a pot or paint a plate, a gift of hand-made jewellery worth up to £50, a Privilege card for future visits and 10% discount in the Wedgwood shop.  The deluxe experience days also include coffee and shortbread on arrival, a 3 course lunch and an additional gift.  Experiences last approximately 3 hours, however guests are welcome to stay onsite until the Centre closes at 5pm.


Experiences are available on weekdays and weekends throughout the year, with the exception of the Christmas period. Please note from November to February the demonstration area will be closed on Saturdays and Sundays.


The Wedgwood Visitors centre is located in Staffordshire near Stoke on Trent.


There is no minimum age however all under 16's must be accompanied by a participating adult.


Spectators are welcome but they will need to pay for entry to the Visitor Centre on the day. As well as the demonstration area and Museum, the site boasts a restaurant, film theatre, boutique, shop and factory outlet. The Visitor Centre is fully accessible to wheelchair users and there is ample free parking available.
