Take part in a fascinating Glass Taster Workshop in Aylesbury! This introductory day is a compelling eye-opener to the world of glass and gives you a rare insight into how glass artefacts are made. The workshop is hosted by master glass-makers who'll show you how it's done and give you plenty of chance to have a go yourself.
You will be guided through the basic techniques and methods of working with hot glass and what all the tools and equipment are used for. One of the most exhilarating parts is gathering glass from the furnace, with the intense heat that will amaze you. You will also learn how glass can be coloured and shaped.
Your small group glass taster workshop will lead to you having a go at making your own piece, such as a paperweight, under the guidance of your tutor. To round off the workshop, there will be a demonstration and introduction to glassblowing - another fascinating part of glass art.
