It starts with the rejuvenating Hamam Experience, a traditional Turkish bath with deep pore cleansing and exfoliation. You can then enjoy a mini-facial, a revitalising treatment for busy people that leaves skin supple and youthful looking again. As though that isn't enough pampering, you can finish the entirely 'delightful' experience with an express manicure and pedicure - your nails groomed, shaped and buffed, your hands and feet massaged.
What is a hamam? - A hamam or Turkish bath is the middle Eastern variant of a steam bath which is a 'wet' relative of the sauna. In Western europe the Turkish bath became popular in the Victorian era as popular method of cleansing the body and relaxing. The process involved in taking a Turkish bath is similar to that of a sauna, but is more closely related to the bathing practices of the Romans. Traditionally a person taking a Turkish bath first relaxes in a 'warm' room heated by a continuous flow of hot, dry air allowing the bather to perspire freely. Bathers may then move to an even hotter room before splashing themselves with cold water. After washing, bathers enjoy a massage finally retire to a cooling room for a period of relaxation.
Your experience includes a short consultation, a half hour in the Hamam where you can apply the soaps, wash and relax. This is followed by a half hour massage, a mini facial and express manicure and pedicure. Allow spending two and a half hours at the Spa.
The spa usually operates seven days a week 10.00am - 7.00pm.
All are welcome but under 16's must be accompanied.
These activities are not suitable for spectators, although guests are welcome to join you afterwards for tea in the foyer, a drink in the bar or for a meal at one of two superb restaurants. The Bentley is one of London's top hotels and an overnight stay would make a special occasion truly memorable.
A friend and I used the activity voucher to have a Turkish bath and we thoroughly enjoyed it. In fact, I'm going to book again!
