Our part day Alexander technique classes are an informative and friendly way to make the first steps towards understanding this way of improving your posture, physical efficiency and therefore improved performance.
This Alexander technique experience is very popular for horse-riders and musicians, as posture is everything, but the same methods can be applied to improve the way your carry yourself in everyday situations, such as being behind a computer at work. By improving the way to move, those who have discovered the Alexander technique often show a marked reduction in back pain and general bodily aches and pains.
As the approach to the technique is holistic, you'll find your breathing is more natural and deeper, you can more effectively manage stress and the opportunities to grow in terms of personal development are great. If you've got an open mind, the Alexander technique, which is similar in many ways to the ideas behind pilates, will help you experience a new freedom and ease of being.
Our nationwide Alexander technique practitioners are all MSTAT registered, that is Member of the Society of Teachers of the Alexander Technique and all Alexander technique classes are conducted on a relaxed one to one basis, meaning you get the full, undivided attention of your practitioner.
Your class will last approximately 60 minutes and all you need to bring along is yourself and an open mind! This Alexander Experience is just one of range of gift activities that make the perfect present.

These Alexander technique classes usually last between 45mins and one hour and offer an opportunity for you to find out first hand what it the Alexander technique is all about - you can learn about your individual habits and experience the pleasant and relaxing effect of the Alexander work. The teacher can advise you on what your needs might be and help you draw up a plan of action. All classes are on a one to one basis.

Alexander technique classes are available year round, at times to suit.

You just need to arrive in comfortable, loose clothing. You will need to remove your shoes for the duration of the Alexander technique class. As for the teacher, we only use trained teachers of the Alexander Technique and these have the letters M.S.T.A.T after their names. This stands for Member of the Society of Teachers of the Alexander Technique and means that they have successfully completed a three year, full time training course approved by the Society and that they are registered, bound by a code of Professional Conduct, and hold professional indemnity insurance.

As these Alexander technique classes are taught on a one to one basis in a treatment room style venue, they are not suitable for spectators. Facilities vary from venue to venue.
