Harvard Warbird Experience
Now here's an opportunity that just doesn't come along every day - the chance to fly a Harvard in Kent or Northamptonshire. A proper World War 2 warbird, the aircraft, officially named the North American T-6 Texan, is famous as a fighter trainer aircraft. We also have a full range of other
vintage aircraft flights at venues across the UK.
In fact, this two seat, dual controlled, single engine ex military trainer is steeped in history, the charismatic growl of her 600 horsepower radial engine evocative of a bygone era. Now you too can discover how so many Spitfire fighter pilots were taught their flying abc's by indulging in a warbird flying experience in this marvellous historic aeroplane!
This unique experience includes a full briefing to encompass the all important safety drills, familiarisation with the aircraft and her systems and the effects of the aircraft controls. Another unique experience is to accompany a
Spitfire flight, fly alongside a real WWII Spitfire as it flies gracefully over the skies of Kent and the white cliffs of Dover. A superbly memorable experience.
During the course of the flight, the instructor will offer you the chance to take the controls of this wonderful vintage aeroplane. If you like, he'll loop and roll, demonstrating the performance of the Havard in flight. You'll taste the sense of freedom, see the local landmarks and before you know it, you'll be joining the circuit back at the airfield for landing.
You may take the controls for up to 75% of the flight time if you wish, or you may just want to sit back and enjoy the ride ... the choice is yours ... you can participate as much or as little as you like! At the end of your flight you will be presented with a personalised certificate as a fitting souvenir of your amazing vintage aeroplane experience. IntotheBlue also offers

Experience summary: Every warbird experience will incorporate a thorough 30 minute briefing, your chosen flight time and a 20 minute debrief. Allow between 2-3 hours at the venue (depending on flight time chosen).
Availability: These flights are offered throughout the year, on selected weekdays and weekends, with various start times available.
Location: Three flight venues are available - Rochester or Headcorn in Kent and Sywell near Northampton.
Restrictions: Minimum height 5', maximum height 6'4", maximum weight 20 stone. A reasonable level of agility is required in order to climb in and out of these vintage aircraft. Steps can be provided for your safety and comfort. Participants should wear casual seasonal clothing and light footwear. Flying coverall suits will be provided for the flight itself.
Spectators/facilities: Spectators are welcome to come and see the action. There is an airfield viewing area, from which you can take photographs and video recordings as well as an on site cafe and toilets (inc disabled access toilets) on site.
