Of over 8000 DH28 models built, the Tiger Moth residing at this airfield in Wiltshire was one of the very first batch of 12 built in 1933. She immediately went into the DeHavilland School of Flying, teaching young pilots, many of whom went on to fly fighters in the Second World War. She returned to civil in 1945 and it wasn't until 2007 when she was bought and fully restored to join the fleet at this historic airfield.
Beautifully liveried in her silver wings and red fuselage, G-ACDI is always a huge favourite with the visitors to the airfield when they see her fly. As well as the sheer pleasure of the Tiger Moth flight, you'll also have the stunning views to enjoy. From the open cockpit of the Moth you'll be privy to a super bird's eye view of Salisbury cathedral, the rolling Wiltshire countryside and beyond.
For this Tiger Moth flight in Wiltshire you will be met by the instructor pilot who will be taking you up for your experience, given a safety briefing and then once comfortably strapped in the cockpit you'll taxi off for your flight in this most glorious of flying machines.

Your fully qualified pilot instructor will provide a safety and pre-flight briefing before getting strapped in and heading off on your flight. During the flight you will be given the opportunity to take the controls of the aircraft. You will be flying in the fully restored 1933 DH28A Tiger Moth biplane.

Tiger Moths have open cockpits, so your activity will be dependent on the weather. The flying centre operates all year round and subject to availability, Tiger Moths are available on weekdays and weekends.

Your Tiger Moth flight will take place at Old Sarum Airfield just north of Salisbury in Wiltshire, with easy access from areas such as Southampton and the south coast.

To fly in the Tiger Moth you must be at least 14 years old, under 6'6" and weigh no more than 16 stone.

Spectators are welcome to come along and watch the flight. There is free parking at the airfield and there is Skies cafe and restaurant on site providing breakfast, lunch and afternoon snacks as well as drinks. There are toilet facilities on site too.
