Take a trip back in time and enjoy flying a biplane such as a Tiger Moth, a true icon of the aviation world, at your choice of location throughout the UK. We also offer gift vouchers for
flights in vintage aeroplanes other than the Tiger Moth - such as Chipmunks, Havards and sightseeing flights in DeHavilland Doves. Full range of
flying experiences here.
Your flight experience in a vintage bi-plane begins with a welcome and safety briefing from your pilot. You will then be helped up into the cockpit and strapped into the snug interior of the biplane. Then comes the almost theatrical performance of "swinging the prop" - all necessary to get these marvellous vintage aircraft started and ready for take off! "Switches off, petrol on, throttle closed, suck in", followed by "contact", then with an almighty heave on the prop the engine will burst into life.
Even taxiing in biplanes such as the Tiger Moth is an art form, as the pilot weaves to and fro craning their neck to see where you are going. It's hard to explain the exhilaration of take-off in a vintage aircraft like this, as it shudders and purrs, eager to get airborne. The windscreen does a very good job of keeping the breeze to a minimum and once up and away you will quickly get used to the Tiger Moth's engine noise, which fades to a loud but comfortable rumble.
Your pilot will demonstrate a few gentle turns before letting you take control of the vintage aircraft for yourself. Taking the flight controls, you'll soon discover only the lightest touch is needed to keep the wings straight and level, or maintain height through a turn.
Any signs of enthusiasm for your vintage aircraft fight will be met with the offer to demonstrate more exciting manoeuvres, even a loop, if the aircraft is cleared for aerobatics. IntotheBlue proudly offers vintage
Spitfire flights in an adjacent helicopter, a great way to witness the majestic and memorable Spitfire fly alongside you close enough to see the pilot smile.

The biplanes used for these flights vary, with Tiger Moths and Stampes being used. Please see the table below for more details. The flight times quoted are 'chock to chock', so run from taxiing out to when you stop after landing. All flights will include a pre flight briefing in addition to your chosen flight time of 20, 30 or 40 minutes.

The Kent and Gloucestershire venues offer flights in vintage biplanes all year round (according to weather conditions). Flights from Goodwood take place on weekdays only. All other venues operate between March and October.
