Your experience is a first lesson in the Microlight Flying Syllabus, just the same as if you were aiming for your microlight pilot's licence, so it really is the real deal. You also have the choice of a flexwing Pegasus 912 microlight or the fixed wing Icarus C42. The school has two of these revolutionary microlights which look more like a 'proper' plane. With a 100hp engine, everyone who flies in them loves the fun and responsive performance.
If you choose a fixed wing experience, you'll be kitted out with intercom and gloves if it's cold. If you go for the flexwing, it's full flying suit and helmet too as you're more face to face with the elements in the open cockpit.
Once all safely strapped in, you'll taxi along ready to take off into the wind. Microlights take off very quickly as they are so light and within a couple of minutes you'll be 1000ft off the ground. The distance you'll fly and the amount of time you'll have to take the controls yourself depends on the length of lesson booked, but at this microlight school in Surrey we're sure you'll come back down to earth with a smile on your face!
Your microlight lesson can be taken in either a flex wing microlight that uses weight shift to control (like a hang glider with an engine) or a fixed wing style microlight which is more like a conventional aircraft. After an introduction to the airfield you'll be briefed on the flight that lies ahead before joining your instructor for your chosen flight duration. You will have the chance to take the controls yourself and fly the aircraft. On flex wing flights you will be provided with a flying suit to keep you warm as well as a helmet and headset for communication.
Microlight flights are available on weekdays and weekends throughout the year subject to weather conditions. Flex wing microlights are more susceptible to wind conditions than fixed wing microlights. Please visit our main

Blackbushe Airport is on the border of Hampshire and Surrey between Basingstoke and Camberley.
Maximum weight is 100kg (just under 16 stone), there is no minimum age however you need to be large enough to be securely strapped into the aircraft, usually age 10+ is OK.
Guests are welcome to come and watch the fun, you can enjoy the Bushe Cafe which is open 7 days a week and offers a variety of food and drink.
