Go up in a helicopter at Leicester Airport and stay there - for ten minutes! Your mission is to hover in the chopper, constantly checking the instruments to make sure you're level, which gives you the sensation of just hanging in the air. Great fun!
This centre at Leicester Airport specialises in helicopters and there is a large fleet and a full team of instructor pilots who will able to take you for your hover challenge in the Schweizer 300 CBi heli. This helicopter has a three-blade fully articulated rotor, meaning the machine is very stable and tolerant too, especially when you are learning to hover.
For this 10 minute hover session you will be first shown around the chopper and then inside the two-seat cockpit, the controls will be explained to you and once airborne you'll be trying to hover stabilising one of the controls, before adding other controls into the mix - the helicopter equivalent of rubbing your stomach and tapping your head at the same time!
