After a half hour safety briefing on the ground, you'll climb aboard the chopper. When it comes to helicopters, the general school of thought is that the Robinson R22 is the best you could hope to learn in, so you'll have a fun and informative hands on insight into it's manoeuvrability.
Once you have taken off from the helipad, you can expect to experience hovering, flying backwards and sideways! Experience Summary: Your experience includes a half hour ground briefing followed by your chosen flight duration and the chance to take the controls yourself (flight times are quoted from start up to shutdown). You'll also receive a First Flight Certificate on completion of your lesson.
Availability: Trial lessons operate on most weekends throughout the year subject to weather conditions.
Location: Carlisle Airport, near Brampton with good access from J43/44 of the M6.
Requirements: Minimum age is 14 years, maximum height is 6'4", maximum weight is 17 stone.
Spectators and Facilities: Spectators are welcome to come and watch. There is a Cafe below the control tower with great views of the airfield.
