Helicopter Experience Sussex
Your helicopter experience in Sussex is set to be a glamorous affair at Shoreham airfield in Sussex (otherwise known as Brighton City Airport), as the setting is superb. As soon as you take off, you'll be treated to spectacular views of the Brighton and Hove coastline and the impressive Lancing College building.
Indeed, the airport is buzzing all the time, with many glam types landing and taking off in their private planes and helicopters, so on your 20, 30 or 60 minute helicopter lesson you can feel like part of the Sussex jet-set too! Your pilot instructor will show you round the Robinson R22 helicopter that'll be used for your lesson and once you've radioed for clearance from air traffic control, you'll soon be airborne.
The Robinson R22 is renowned for it's reliability, speed and low running costs. It has a single piston engine and the rotor blades span nearly eight metres. The helicopter has a range of 300 nautical miles and a cruising speed of 80 knots. All these stats apart, we know you won't fail to be amazed by the sensation of rotary flight and the views of the sea on your helicopter lesson from this delightful Sussex base, which is convenient for those coming from London and the South East.
Experience Summary: You'll enjoy a pre-flight briefing where the principles of helicopter flight are explained, then you'll take to the skies for your chosen flight time where your instructor will encourage you to take the controls as much as possible. Afterwards you'll be presented with a personalised flight certificate to show off to friends and family. This heli experience in Sussex is just one from our range. Please check our main
