Helicopter Flying Lessons in Liverpool

Anyone taking 2 or 4 seater helicopter lessons from Liverpool could find themselves flying over the iconic sights of Merseyside such as the Albert Docks or the Liverpool and Everton stadiums.

This centre was established in 1986 and boasts fully qualified FI(H) (Flight Instructor Helicopter) instructors and a wide range of lessons from 30 minutes right up to introductory days. Regardless of the option you choose you'll enjoy informative pre-flight briefings and one to one tuition with plenty of opportunity for you to take the controls.  At the end of all flights your instructor will present you with a personalised flight certificate and if you want to take things further any hours flown can count towards obtaining a pilots licence.

On the introductory days you'll have your own personal helicopter instructor for the day and be in the helicopter flying for around 2.5hrs. The time is usually split into two or more lessons including a starter session, a navigation exercise, flying sideways and backwards, spot turns and classic hovering manoeuvres. You'll also enjoy additional briefing time in and out of the cockpit and lunch with your pilot instructor. 

As an added bonus on four seater chopper flights your pilot will usually allow an extra person to join you and enjoy the lesson from the rear seats.

All lessons include: a welcome briefing from a training co-ordinator, pre flight video, refreshments, discussion of flight path, your chosen flying time and the presentation of a flight certificate.
Introductory days provide more detailed briefings on how the controls work and their effects, 2.5 hours of hand on flying time (usually split into 2 flights), lunch with your instructor and a personalised flying certificate.

Minimum age 14 years, minimum height 4'6". For 2 seater flights you need to be under 6' tall and under 16 stone (102 kgs). For 4 seater flights you should be under 18 stone in weight.

Spectators are welcome to come and watch take off and landing. There is a comfortable lounge area and outdoor viewing area with great views of the aircraft. On 4 seater flights a passenger can usually be taken on the flight (at the pilots discretion). Tea, coffee and squash are available for guests.
