Taking helicopter taster flights in Buckinghamshire at the Wycombe Air Park (formerly Marlow Airfield) is a lively affair with this well-established helicopter centre. Not only giving helicopter flights, the centre is also renowned for specialist rotary aviation services such as aerial photography and load lifting.

They really are a talented bunch, counting commercial airline pilots, RAF pilots who have clocked many thousands of flying hours and even an ex-Formula 1 driver in the team of pilots offering these helicopter flights over the Buckinghamshire countryside. The centre operates a large fleet of helis, including the Eurocopter Twin Squirrel, Augusta 109 and Bell Jetranger. For helicopter trial lessons you can choose from the two seater Robinson R22 or the four seater version, the R44.

All experiences include a 20 minute pre-flight check and briefing before you get strapped in, ask air traffic control for clearance and as the rotors whirr up to speed, you'll feel yourself lifting into the air. On all flights there is time to 'have a go' with the controls and maybe even try hovering and low-level flying.

You'll receive a 20 minute pre flight briefing on the effects of the controls and how the helicopter flies. You'll take the controls throughout the taster lesson and explore the local area before returning to the airfield for low level flying and hovering. After your flight you will be presented with a certificate of achievement. Flight duration is from engine start up to shut down. On 4 seater flights additional passenger may be able to enjoy the lesson from the rear seats, at the pilots discretion.
The Helicopter school is open seven days a week. Lessons can usually be booked from 0900 to 1730 with extended opening hours in summer months.  Nationwide helicopter lessons are available from IntotheBlue with heli centres located throughout the UK.
Buckinghamshire. Marlow near High Wycombe. Oxford, Slough and Hemel Hempstead are all within easy reach. The airfield has good access from junction 4 of the M40.
Minimum age 14 years, maximum weight is 17 stone, maximum height 6'6".
Spectators are welcome to come and watch at this Buckinghamshire helicopter centre, there is a conservatory offering views across the airfield. There is also a Cafe/bar with a balcony ideal for viewing the action, a variety of drinks and snacks can be purchased on site. This is a busy airfield so there's always lots for visitors to see.
