Helicopter Lessons in Bedfordshire

This range of helicopter flying lessons takes place at the well-known ex RAF base of Cranfield in Bedfordshire and offers something for anyone keen to experience rotary flight - from a taster 20 minutes to full days offering more flying time and in-depth tuition from your expert pilot instructor.
Whether it's your first time in a chopper or not, there is no denying that with the sound of the rotor blades turning just a metre above your head and the noise of the engine just behind your seat, your heart will be in your mouth as you go through the pre-flight checks before take off. Once getting clearance from air traffic control at this busy airfield, you'll be up and away experiencing vertical take off in a two seater Robinson R22 helicopter on your own flying lesson!
No matter which of our range of helicopter flying lessons you choose, all are led by expert pilot instructors and you will have plenty of time to tour the facilities at the airfield, learn more about how helicopters actually fly and get a taste of what it'd be like to have a PPL(H) - the Private Pilots Licence for Helicopters. Please see our main helicopter lessons page for more information on helicopter experiences around you.

All flights include a ground briefing. Your instructor will handle take off and demonstrate the unique manoeuvres of helicopter flight. After some expert tuition you will take the controls of a 2 seater helicopter under the guidance of your instructor for most of your selected flight duration. Flight times are measured from engine start up to shutdown. You'll also be presented with a personalised certificate as a record of your flight.

Flights are usually available all year round subject to weather conditions.
