This gliding club in Warwickshire is based at Long Marston airfield, just minutes away from enchanting Stratford Upon Avon and access from Birmingham, Worcester and Chippenham is really easy. On a clear day, your views from the glider can span from the Severn Estuary, near Bristol to the Wrekin hill in Shropshire. But however far you can see on the day, you will be awestruck by the beauty and silence.
The launch method to get you up “Into the Blue” from this airfield is by a self-launching glider, taking you to altitudes in excess of 2’000 feet, at which point the engine is switched off and you'll enjoy the delight of silent glider flight. You will be in a side by side glider, giving you the security and comfort of knowing exactly what your instructor is showing you, putting you at ease from the outset.
It's up to you which glider experience voucher you go for. For a best value present there's the one or two launch vouchers. You'll be struck by the tranquility and the amazing views...but here's not too much time to ponder as your instructor will be handing the glider controls to you so you can fly! You can take along a camera if you wish, to capture the sights and show your family and friends, or you can just enjoy for yourself the pure excitement of silent flight.
If you choose the more comprehensive full day experience, it's more of a mini gliding course, with up to three flights spread throughout the day so you can enjoy the atmosphere of this friendly club, whilst gaining a deeper understanding of
glider flights, ground handling and glider launch procedures. Flights in this glider are capable of getting up to altitude under its own power before the engine is switched off and the gliding begins.
Each glider launch gives between a 20 - 25 mins flight time depending on the weather conditions. Day courses provide up to three flights which will provide at least an hour of glider experience flight time in total. If powered flight appeals we have a number of

flying experiences available on our main flying page. Your voucher also includes 6 weeks membership to the gliding club, allowing you to return and take advantage of club member rates.
Weather permitting, the gliding club operates seven days a week throughout the year.
The airfield is located just south of Stratford upon Avon in Warwickshire.
The minimum age is 10, maximum height 6'3" and maximum weight 15 1/2 stone for this gliding experience.
Spectators are very welcome and will be offered complimentary tea and coffee whilst you enjoy the experience of your lifetime. There are plenty of local amenities and attractions for you and your family nearby and many local B&B's within easy reach of the airfield.
