This gliding club in Warwickshire is based at Long Marston airfield, just minutes away from enchanting Stratford Upon Avon and access from Birmingham, Worcester and Chippenham is really easy. On a clear day, your views from the glider can span from the Severn Estuary, near Bristol to the Wrekin hill in Shropshire. But however far you can see on the day, you will be awestruck by the beauty and silence.
The launch method to get you up “Into the Blue” from this airfield is by a self-launching glider, taking you to altitudes in excess of 2’000 feet, at which point the engine is switched off and you'll enjoy the delight of silent glider flight. You will be in a side by side glider, giving you the security and comfort of knowing exactly what your instructor is showing you, putting you at ease from the outset.
It's up to you which glider experience voucher you go for. There's a one or two launch vouchers. You'll be struck by the tranquility and the amazing views...but here's not too much time to ponder as your instructor will be handing the glider controls to you so you can fly! You can take along a camera if you wish, to capture the sights and show your family and friends, or you can just enjoy for yourself the pure excitement of silent flight.
