Your chance to get in a glider and experience the delights of silent flight as you soar over the towns and cities of Surrey.

The club is at the historic Kenley Airfield, which was opened in 1917 as a fighter squadron base, and it has to be said, the airfield is steeped in history - including Hurricane and Spitfire missions departing day and night during WW2, to its complete ruin under enemy fire.

Things are, thankfully, a lot calmer today. The airfield now plays host to the only gliding club within the M25. No more murmur of Merlin engines, just the sound of the winch as you launch off in either the Grob or Schleicher two seater gliding trainers.

This club offers winch launches only, which will take you up to about 1000ft and it's up to you whether you choose two or four launches for your gliding experience.

Each winch tow lasts between 5 and 15 mins. If the allocated flight duration is met on the first glider launch, additional launches may not take place.


Gliding experiences are offered Monday to Friday, weather permitting, throughout the year. IntotheBlue also offer other flying experiences including a range of flying lessons & classes.


Surrey, the gliding centre has easy access from London and the South East, with access from Junction 6 of the M25.


The minimum age is 14, maximum height 6'2"and maximum weight is 15 stone for these gliding experiences.


Spectators are welcome to come and watch.


All instructors for gliding experiences are British Gliding Association approved.
