Get a taste of flying at this professional Flight Training Organisation based at Newcastle Airport! The school we use has been certified as an FTO by the Civil Aviation Authority, meaning that the highly experienced instructors can teach flying to professional level and you will delight in having an insight into this fascinating world on your air experience.
Being based at Newcastle International Airport, you'll be immersed in the business of the site which welcomes over eight million passengers a year and offers flights to over 80 different destinations worldwide. In fact, Newcastle Airport was the fastest growing regional airport in the UK in 2005, with terminal building extensions and enlarged check in hall projects.
All the hustle and bustle of a proper commercial airport makes for a very thrilling location to take your first flight. In your Piper light aircraft you might feel a little dwarfed next to those big jet airliners, but the privileged view from the cockpit of the busy aprons, taxiways, the 45m high Emirates Air Traffic Control Tower and the original 1935 control tower, is really quite impressive.
As well as your bird's eye view of the goings on, you will receive top-notch flying instruction. The three senior flying instructors have clocked up over 35,000 teaching hours amongst them, lead by Head of Training Eric Reed, so you know you'll be learning from the most experienced of pilots.
Whether you choose a 30 or 60 minute flight in either a two or four seat Piper light aircraft from this flight centre at Newcastle Airport, you'll have ample time to take control of the plane yourself, once the instructor has handled the take-off.
Alternative flying lessons are available at aero clubs and airfields nationwide, please visit our
flying lessons section for full information.

All experiences include a 1:1 pre-flight briefing to discuss the principles of flight, the aircraft controls and the planned route of your flight. Once in the air you will have the chance to take the controls under the supervision of your instructor. Four seater options usually allow you take along an additional passenger to enjoy the lesson from the rear seats.

Flights usually take place 7 days a week throughout the year, subject to weather conditions.
