What Can I Expect

When it comes to fun things to do in the lakes, you can't beat a bit of quad biking around the Lake District! Set in 300 acres of Cumbrian countryside just south east of Kendal, there's plenty of scope for first time riders and keen bikers alike, thanks to the varied terrain on offer.

Quad biking is this outdoor centre's most popular activity and it's easy to see why. Tucked into a corner of the Lake District not far from Old Hutton, but easily accessible from the M6, you've got all the space you need to have fun on your all terrain vehicle. This centre uses the Yamaha Grizzly, the world's leading quad bike that is easy to ride, agile and can pretty much 'go anywhere', as they say.

And that's a rather handy character trait to have when you're quad biking around these parts of the Lake District. There's a superb combination of man-made and natural obstacles here. You might find yourself heading for the balance beam or the seesaw one minute, then bombing off along a country lane complete with puddle splashes the next. You might have to prepare for a soaking!

Then there's the fell land that the Lake District is famous for. On a quad bike that translates into bumpy, rocky terrain that's great fun. Expect some boggy land and several steep angles too if you're up for the challenge.

Don't worry if you've never been on a quad before. Treks are all guided and routes will be chosen to suit your ability. On top of all that, instruction is clear and easy to understand, so even the most timid of drivers will feel safe and ready to rock these Cumbrian tracks and trails.

Oh and did we mention the views? From the top of the trails you can see for miles and miles. It's pretty stunning. And if you're worried about the environmental impact of quad biking in the Lake District, this operator maintains all trails and even plants trees to offset carbon emissions. Guilt-free quad biking for all - we love it!
