What Can I Expect

Book a day trip to Wales to explore Cardiff! These Wales tours from London include return coach travel from the capital and knowledgeable local guides to show you around.

It's a fairly early start for these Cardiff day trips, but it does mean you maximise your time on your visit to Cardiff. Pick up points include several central and west London locations, giving you plenty of choice for your travel plans into London to join the trip to Wales. With a comfort stop along the way, the aim is to be in Cardiff by about 11:45.

You'll be met by a local guide for a panoramic sightseeing tour of Wales's capital city by coach. Sitting on the coast where the River Taff meets the Severn Estuary, there's lots to see on these day trips to Cardiff. You'll love the imposing stone-built National Museum, the modern splendour of the Principality (Millennium) Stadium and lots more landmarks besides.

After your guide waves you goodbye, you'll be taken to Cardiff Bay, where the River Taff meets the sea at this impressive natural harbour. There'll be time for you to find a nice spot for lunch in one of the waterside cafes or pubs here.

After the break, it's the seaside. Penarth is a lovely traditional Victorian seaside town with lots of charm, its Art Deco pier and pebble beaches. Having taken in the sea air, it's time for your visit to the wonderful Cardiff Castle. The entrance fee to the Castle is included on your Cardiff day trip package.

Cardiff's castle dates back to Norman and Roman times, with the fantastical neo-Gothic structure you see today being built in Victorian times. There's a wealth of history around Cardiff Castle and with its colourful interior, quirky architecture and lovely gardens, it's a must-see on any visit to Wales!

Having discovered Cardiff city centre with a guide, had lunch, seen the sea and enjoyed time exploring Cardiff Castle, it's time to board the return coach. Sit back and relax in your seat. Browse all those photos you took. And reflect upon your day trip to Wales, as you whizz back up the M4 to London. Cardiff day trips from London run throughout the year.
