What Can I Expect

Drop anchor in London with these Cutty Sark tickets! These packages for two include tickets to visit the Cutty Sark, afternoon tea in the Cutty Sark Cafe and a 24hr river boat pass too.

You will be visiting one of the last merchant clipper tall sailing ships to be built, before steam power took over from sails. You'll discover what life on the high seas was all about in the 19th century, with enthralling interactive exhibits and realistic sights and sounds too.

The good ship Cutty Sark was built in 1869 at a cost of £16,150. By chance, this was the same year that the Suez Canal opened, cutting journeys to China to collect tea by over 3000 nautical miles. This was the route the boat took for many years, ferrying hundreds of chests filled with tea from China, to satiate our new-found desire for cups of tea.

Indeed, the Cutty Sark was infamous during her merchant tea shipping days. She took part in several high-profile 'tea races', including one against her lighter, perhaps more agile rival Thermopylae. Both ships left Shanghai fully loaded with tea and ready to race back to the capital.

We won't tell you what happened, we'll let you find out when you visit the exhibitions onboard the Cutty Sark! You can also visit the Captain's quarters, the crew cabins and even climb the rigging if you dare.

Many say the shape of her hull had a great deal to do with these impressive speeds (up to 17.5 knots) - and with your tickets you get access to the amazing world of the Cutty Sark under the waterline. This is because she now sits in a dry dock in Greenwich, raised up with an amazing glass roof, so you can walk all the way round the glistening gold hull in all weathers. And indeed, your afternoon tea is served under the Cutty Sark in the cafe!

As well as your entry tickets and afternoon tea, your Cutty Sark package also includes 24hr tickets for the City Cruise river boats. Hop and off at the four piers - Westminster, London Eye, Tower and Greenwich, which is just a step away from the Cutty Sark.

Get ready to embark on a thoroughly immersive voyage across the unpredictable seas, explore the ship, enjoy afternoon tea and explore the River Thames by boat too, with these great value Cutty Sark ticket packages!
