A DUKW amphibious vehicle tour of London is exciting and unusual way to see the capital. The tour in these mad-looking vehicles equally at home in water and on the public roads, starts from the South Bank area of London, close to the former County Hall and London Eye. Lasting around 70 minutes, the tour takes in the most famous sights of London.
From the South Bank, you head by road past the Houses of Parliament, Big Ben, Downing St, through to Trafalgar Square and past St James' Palace. Then you'll see The Ritz, Hyde Park, Buckingham Palace (what would our dear Queen think if she saw a bright yellow DUKW on looking out of her window!), Westminster Abbey and the Tate Britain.
Then it's into the water at the Vauxhall slipway and splashdown! Cruising up the Thames as far as the London Eye, you will get some great views of London's sights from the water before heading back to the Vauxhall slipway, before returning to your start point at County Hall by road.
This is a truly unique experience and certainly a fun way to see London from the road and the water with an informative and entertaining tour guide onboard too - just be prepared for some admiring looks from other road and river users! This unusual gift idea is just one experience day activity from IntotheBlue.
