Drive three of the best-loved GT cars around the Goodwood racetrack! Time to hark back to the golden age of motoring in the 1960s with the chance to get behind the wheel of three of the best classic GT cars for three laps each.

The Goodwood Circuit is in itself a tourist attraction, having held many a motor sport event, the first of which was in 1948 and featured a certain Stirling Moss. Since then the track has seen the technology behind the cars advance, but something tells us these much-loved GTs are perfect for the track.

Of course, GT stands for Grand Tourer or 'Gran Turismo' in Italian and the term was honed for luxury cars used for long distance driving. Most commonly these cars are two door and high on performance rather than practicality. On this day in Goodwood you'll get to drive a Ferrari 308, the Porsche 911 Carerra RS and an AC Cobra.

The Ferrari 308 has always been known as the GT from TV show Magnum P.I and it certainly cuts a dashing shape on the track. The Porsche 911 first came out in 1972 and was an instant hit, whilst the AC Cobra raised eyebrows having Ford's V8 engine squeezed in to its tiny, light chassis for maximum power to weight ratio.

On this GT driving day at Goodwood you will drive each car for three laps. The circuit is 2.4 miles long, so will be in the driving hotseat for nearly 22 miles - plenty of time to get used to driving these great Grand Tourers!

The GT Experience includes a welcome and safety briefing at this historic racetrack, a total of 9 driving laps of the 2.4 mile circuit including 3 laps in a Ferrari 308, 3 laps in a Porsche 911 Carerra RS* and 3 laps in an AC Cobra*. You will be presented with a driving certificate after the event. Allow spending an hour at the circuit.
*These are modern day recreations, not original vehicles.


Driving takes place on selected weekdays from April to October. Availability is reduced from mid August to mid September due to annual driving festivals at the circuit. Goodwood Race Circuit is near Chichester in West Sussex. It is fastidiously maintained to a pristine standard.


All drivers need to have a full UK driving licence. Flat soled shoes or trainers should be worn.
