Experience some of the world's wackiest cars on a professional oval racetrack and the public roads in Northamptonshire. Courtesy of quintessentially eccentric British inventor and 'Wheeler Dealer' TV presenter Edd China, you'll find yourself having a ride in world's fastest furniture, including the 'Hot Desk' office, the 'Casual Lofa' motorised sofa and the 'Street Sleeper' double bed - all of which are fully road legal, taxed, insured and with MoTs.
And yes, you did just read that correctly. On this wacky cars experience you will be a passenger in a motorised office, sofa and a bed, but nothing is quite what is seems. The office brings new meaning to beating that daily commute, as you hurtle round the race track safely strapped in to your office chair. The ignition is in a briefcase, the mouse is the horn and the computer keyboard is the steering wheel. There's even a water cooler and the indicators are hidden in pot plants. Remember to hold on though, as Edd is in the Guinness Book of World for driving the fastest office at 87mph!
Next up is the motorised sofa, Edd China's first creation, which offers the ultimate couch potato ride. Tastefully clad in leopard print velour, the sofa's steering wheel is a pizza pan, a chocolate bar serves as the gear lever and the brake pedal is actually a drinks can, all set off rather nicely with a coffee table attached. And yes, Edd holds the world record for the fastest motorised sofa too, at a ridiculously fast 92mph.
Time for a nightcap and a hot water bottle next, as you tuck yourself up into the Street Sleeper - a driveable double bed that offers a rather comfy and cosy (if a little bit wacky) way to see the great British countryside, as you head out for a tour on the public roads. After that bedtime caper, it's back to the trackside where it's your turn to try driving the Double Decker car. Two cars on top of each other; the top one controls the steering and the bottom one controls the pedals and it's over to you to try and drive this wacky car. All in all a thoroughly wacky day of crazy cars, with professional demos and the wackiest racer movie theatre to finish. Brilliant!
Your experience lasts approximately 3 hours and includes a 5 mile chauffeured ride on public roads in the Worlds fastest street legal bed, 3 passenger track laps on board the Worlds fastest Office and 3 passenger track laps on the worlds fastest Sofa. You'll take the controls and drive the double decker car challenge on a half mile test track and enjoy a wacky racer movie show. There will be professional driver demonstrations including a wheelie pulling transit van and the push me pull you funny car. All guests will enjoy light refreshments and receive a personalised souvenir certificate. You will be in a group of 12 participants.

These experiences run on selected weekends every 6-8 weeks from April November. Start times are usually available at half hour intervals between 9.00 and 5.00.
Northampton International Raceway is a World championship motorsport venue 3 miles South of Northampton around 10 minutes from junction 15 of the M1.
The full experience can be enjoyed by over 16's who are capable of driving a car. A driving licence is not required. Under 16's are welcome but cannot take part in the Double decker driving activity. Maximum weight is 20 stone. These are unique cars, the organisers reserve the right to use similarly amazing substitute vehicles in the unlikely event of a technical problem.
Spectators are welcome to attend and watch the fun, a £10 fee applies which includes light refreshments, souvenir programme and a themed goodie bag. There are covered viewing areas providing plenty of photo opportunities. Professional photographs can usually be purchased on the day. Hot food is available to purchase throughout the day. The raceway has disabled lavatories and good wheelchair access viewing areas. The Bar is open after the driving events.
