Take part in a Tank Taster Day in Leicestershire and get a taste of life in the army as you get behind the wheel of a serious tank! Emblazoned with full battle mission livery, this full-tracked, 17.5 ton vehicle is a proper military piece of hardware that is ready for you to drive.

Your experience starts with getting kitted up in suits and army helmets, before meeting your instructor tank driver who will show you around the tank. Clamber inside the turret and watch in awe as your skilled driver takes you on a demo lap so you can get a feel of the terrain you'll be tackling. Then it's your turn. First lap you'll be looking out of the hatch as you attempt to make it around the track without crunching those gears. The second lap gets serious as it's time to wind the seat down and close the hatch as you drive in combat conditions, with only the periscope to guide you.

For your third and last lap on your tank taster day, it's your choice of hatch open, or hatch closed. By now you'll be feeling more comfortable with the controls on this military beast, so expect to be revving those heavy engines and giving it some around the off road track. By the end of the day one thing's for sure, you'll have a new found respect for the boys and girls in the Army!

- A 45 minute tank driving experience
- You will learn how to drive a 17.5 ton tank

- Three laps of hands-on driving time
- You will be supplied with a tank suit and helmet for the experience


- Available Saturdays, Sundays and alternate Wednesdays from April to October
