On this extended mini tank driving activity day it's a case of big brother, little brother as you get to drive the big fun little mini tanks and another two fully-tracked full sized army vehicles too on this purpose built course in Leicestershire.
The fun starts with the mini tank driving session. Clamber onboard and try and suss out how you manipulate the two levers to actually drive these mini monsters. We think they're cute, but don't be deceived, they can munch mud with the best of them and will take you up hills, through water and along embankments too.
You then leave the mini tank driving behind to meet the beefed up fully tracked Abbot tank or the super solid armoured personnel carrier. Driving either of these will be like nothing else you have experienced as you try to co-ordinate the controls with the normally simple task of looking where you're going! For other tank driving experiences please see our main
tank driving page.
Things then get amphibious with the Hagglunds personnel carrier. Equally at home on water as on land, these two-unit, fully-tracked vehicles were used by the British, Canadian and Swedish armies for transporting soldiers across snowy and swampy terrain.
In total, you'll enjoy around 60 minutes of driving time on this mini tank driving plus session, driving the mini tanks, the Hagglund and either the Abbot tank or armoured personnel carrier.

Mini tank + driving events last around two hours and provide a session in three unique tracked vehicles: an abbot tank or armoured personnel carrier, Hagglund amphibious personnel carrier and a mini tank. In total you will spend approximately 60 minutes driving the vehicles.

Most weekends throughout the year, subject to vehicle availability and extreme weather conditions. Selected weekdays are also available.

The venue is a military driving centre near Burton on Trent, within easy reach of Leicester, Birmingham, Derby, Nottingham and East Midlands Airport, via the M42 and M1.
Tank driving adventure days are available at other locations too!
