Tank Battles in Leicestershire
Tank driving in itself is good fun, but with some of these experiences you can actually take part in a tank battle as well - too much fun!
That’s right, for the tank battle experiences these 17 tonne FV432 armoured personnel carriers are able to battle against one another using specially modified cannons capable of firing 40mm paint rounds. So test your driving or shooting skills to the max with your choice of one of the four events listed in the full details section. Whats more, theres no need to decide now, you decide when you're ready to book your date which one you fancy doing.
One voucher will allow you to choose one option from the four experiences:
Tank Driving: Receive instructions on how to drive 17 tonnes of hardened steel, then try tackling the steep obstacle course. Once you have mastered this skill try it with all the doors and hatches closed seeing only through your periscopes! With1:1 tuition you will negotiate the challenging 1.2-mile course. Approximately 45mins drive time includes one demonstration lap of the circuit by instructor, one lap with you at the controls with hatches open, and one lap with the hatches closed using periscopes to find your way.
Tank Battles: Take it in turns as part of a three-man crew to negotiate a tricky tank course set in a world war II bombing range. Under the guidance of your on-board instructor you will get the opportunity to drive the tank, aim the cannon, load the breach and fire the 40mm air powered cannon. Once you are able to successfully operate the tank the hatches are closed you can engage in full on armoured warfare against an opposing team using your periscopes to guide you. Tank battle experiences last approximately two hours. You will rotate tasks as part of a crew of three with an onboard instructor. You will be issued with radio headsets, Kevlar helmets, tank suits and gloves.
Snow Cat Challenge: Take the wheel of this unusual looking tracked amphibious personnel carrier .You will get the chance to drive it through mud, woodland and water, this little beast is extremely manoeuvrable and is virtually unstoppable! The snow cat has traditional style driving controls so is fairly easy to drive. The Snow cat challenge lasts approximately 30 mins with 1:1 instruction over a 1.5-mile course, which includes some truly wild terrain that would have regular 4x4 vehicles begging for mercy!
Dads and Lads: With one of the instructors driving you will have a thrilling ride around the bombing range in a 17 tonne FV432 armoured personnel carrier with an expert at the controls – hold on tight! You will then get the chance to load and fire the main armourment a 40mm paintball cannon. Then it’s dad’s turn to have a go at driving. Mums and daughters are also welcome of course! Activity lasts approximately 45 minutes.
