This Mitsubishi Evo 8 driving experience promises high performance and high thrills as you put this iconic rally car through its paces on the track near Stafford. The Evo, or rather the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VIII to give it its pedigree name, is a ridiculously fast sports car straight out of the Kurashiki factory in Japan with a growling turbo-charged engine just begging to be driven at speed.

This eighth generation Mitsi is widely agreed to be the best and most dynamic of the Evo series, boasting a large rear spoiler, coupled with aggressive bonnet and headlight styling. What sheer euphoria then, to be driving this four wheel drive, 300+bhp beast on tyre-screechingly fast laps of this smooth tarmac track.

Think rally star Tommi Makinen as you slide into the driver's seat and your instructor checks your harness. Take a sharp intake of breath as you power down the gears for the chicanes. Marvel at the acceleration as you hit the gas to exit the corner. Drive wide-eyed as you take in the agility of this Evo 8...and then do it all again, as you'll be behind the wheel for six laps of the circuit on this formidable Mitsubishi Evo 8 driving experience - fantastic stuff!

Both experiences (more driving experiences available on our main driving page) include a pre-drive briefing, 6 driving laps of the 1.1 mile circuit in the Mitsubishi Evo 8, a de-brief session and a personalised certificate. All drivers are coached by a qualified instructor whilst in the car. The Mitsubishi Experience also allows for 2 high speed passengers laps in a performance car.


Sessions run on frequent Saturdays, selected Sundays and occasional weekdays from late January to early December. AM and PM drive times are usually available. The Mitsubishi Thrill will last approximately 1 hour and the Mitsubishi Experience will last for approximately 2 hours.


The venue is a purpose build performance driving centre near Stafford. It boasts a high speed 'airfield' style circuit that incorporates long straights, coned chicanes and tight hairpin bends allowing drivers to explore the capabilities of the car.


You must hold a full manual driving licence, be under 6'6" tall and weigh less than 18.5 stone.


The venue provides a spectator area with good views of the action, catering facilities, toilets, children's play area and free 4x4 passenger rides for spectators. Additional driving activities and passenger rides are usually available to purchase on the day. Between the hours of 07.45 and 17.45 a free minibus will operate between Stafford Train Station and the activity centre. By choosing this greener way to travel drivers will receive a £10 voucher and spectators a £5 voucher to spend at the venue.
