Legendary car designer and Lotus founder, Colin Chapman, must have been a great believer in the 'less is more' theory as the Lotus Elise has super sleek styling, combined with a lightweight construction, to equal one stylish pared down racing car. You might see the odd few on the roads, but bringing the Elise 111S to the tarmac race track in Northants or Lancashire is where the car feels truly at home.
Following registration in one of the circuit's hospitality suites, your experience starts with a safety briefing and theory session on circuit driving techniques. You'll then be kitted out with a crash helmet before taking the wheel.
A professional instructor will be alongside you in the passenger seat throughout to ensure you get the most out of your experience. You'll learn all about the essential circuit driving techniques on the high speed and low geared corners on the track and there's around 6 miles of driving time to practice what you have been taught.
The experience lasts approximately 2 hours including a welcome briefing, 4 miles of familiarisation with the instructor driving, 6 miles of driving the Elise and the presentation of a driving certificate. There will be other drivers using the circuit at the same time.
Courses run on selected Saturdays (usually twice monthly) and some Fridays and Mondays throughout the race season March to November.

Full valid driving licence which must have been held for over a year and should be taken with you on the day. Minimum height is Height 5'0", maximum height 6'4". There is a maximum weight of 18 stone. Participants should wear flat-soled shoes, long sleeved top and trousers.
Spectators are welcome, the circuits boast excellent viewing facilities, including the chance to join participants in the pit area. There are also good hospitality/toilet facilities. Refreshments are available for purchase within the hospitality area. High Speed Passenger Rides available from £40. As a memento of your superb driving technique, you can buy action photos of your experience, subject to availability.
