Enjoy a stunt drive experience with the professionals in Darlington! This two hour session on the autotest course will see you learning some tricks of the stunt driving trade from the experts who somehow manage to make it look easy.

The session starts with meeting and greeting the stunt drive team and a safety briefing. Then you'll be taught one of the staple moves of the stunt driver; the J turn. Highly impressive to watch, you basically reverse at speed in the car before turning the wheel and braking to lock the rear wheels to spin around the car so the bonnet is now facing forward, then it's quickly into a forward gear and away. Sounds easy, but believe us there's a knack to this classic stunt move in a car!

Once you've got that stunt mastered, you'll head out in the car to take on the autotest challenge. The circuit has been purposely laid out to include obstacles and tricky turns, as well as being littered with cones that you have to avoid. You'll find yourself gritting your teeth with determination as your expert instructor guides you round the track. The fastest time is your goal, as the top drivers will compete in a head to head style knockout competition.

The drivers who'll be teaching you on your stunt drive experience in Darlington are all highly experienced in precision stunt driving, with lots of appearances on TV, at product launches, exhibitions and in adverts. This is your chance to learn how to show off in a fast hatchback and you'll love it!

Your stunt drive experience in Darlington lasts around two hours and you may be part of a group of up 15 drivers on the day. After a meet greet and safety briefing, you will be taught how to carry out J turns with an expert driver. You will then move on the autotest circuit, where you will five laps of the course with the instructor in the passenger seat. Drivers with the best times will compete in a knockout head to head competition with a prize for the ultimate winner.


The stunt drive experience is offered on Fridays and Saturday, subject to venue availability, throughout the year.


Your experience takes place at the Darlington Arena just off the A1 and 30 miles from Newcastle and 10 miles from Middlesborough.


Anyone participating in the experience should be at least 17 years old and have a full UK driving licence.


Spectators are welcome to come and watch and there are good viewing areas of the action. Trackside facilities are basic, but there will be hot and cold drinks and you can use the toilet facilities of the Arena.
