Escort Rallying in Oxfordshire
The original and still the best! The Ford Escort MKII is one of the most successful rally icons of all time. The Escort has won more world championship rallies than any other car in the history of the sport. Now you can enjoy the thrill of handbrake turns, power slides, Scandinavian flicks and also learn how to control a car in understeer and oversteer.
This half day course is designed to teach pupils the basic skills of loose surface rally driving whilst providing maximum fun and excitement. You will drive on a purpose designed gravel 'special stage' which reproduces the most testing rally driving you are ever likely to experience. This rally school has a long history of competing in major rally championships and provides professionally built group four spec vehicles. Experienced instructors will help you navigate the stage providing constant advice leaving you to concentrate on the driving.
Each driver will take part in a timed competition to decide the winner of the day, before returning for a debrief and assessment of their driving.
This venue can also provide corporate and group events with a variety of activities.
Experience summary: The whole experience lasts approximately three hours. Instruction will be on a maximum of 5:1 ratio with drivers taking turns behind the wheel. In total each driver will be behind the wheel for approximately half an hour (3 x 10 minute sessions). The course is approximately one mile in length.
Availability: Courses are available all year round on both weekdays and weekends. Both morning and afternoon sessions are available starting at 0930 and 1315.
Location: Near Bicester in Oxfordshire with good access from the M40.
Requirements: You must hold a valid driving licence. There are no height or weight restrictions as fully adjustable seats are used. Casual clothing should be worn along with trainers or thin soled shoes. It is advisable to bring a jacket or warm clothing in the winter months.
Spectators and Facilities: Spectators are welcome however there is a £10 charge per person for refreshments and insurance. Spectators under the age of 16 are not permitted for safety reasons. Dedicated viewing areas with seating are provided. Bicester shopping village is nearby and provides a haven for any spectators who get bored of watching the action. B&B's, local pubs and restaurants can be recommended.Refreshments are provided for participants and spectators.
