If you know anything about rally driving, you'll know that having the chance to drive three different cars - a front wheel drive and two of the best ever all wheel drive rally spec vehicles - all on the same course near Stone in Staffordshire is definitely worth its weight!
The instructors are all fantastic and for some strange reason don't seem to mind you putting your foot down in their beautifully prepared rally cars and kicking up some serious dust - they won't even expect you to wash the cars down after.
On both the half day and the full day experiences you will be driving the front wheel drive Renault Clio, alongside the all wheel drive Subaru Impreza STi and the Mitsubishi Lancer Evo VIII. Before you can get your hands on these favourite rally cars, there is a welcome and safety session along with a driver's briefing on how to handle these powerful vehicles. You will then drive two of the most successful rally cars; the blisteringly quick Mitsubishi Evo VIII and the awesomely fast Subaru Impreza STi . Both cars will show you just how much torque and grip there is in these top of the league rally cars and the Renault Clio will let you hone your handbrake turn techniques on a specially designed rally stage.
Those on the full day experience break for lunch and then the afternoon continues with another session in each of the cars. This extra rallying time means you really start to get to grips with the techniques and get the most out of these superb cars.
The experience doesn't end there - you will then be taken on two high speed, white knuckle passenger laps around the track by your instructor - hold on tight!
All drivers and spectators get the chance to enjoy a 4x4 Off road thrill ride as well. As well as rally driving we offer a wide selection of other driving experiences such as 'stunt driving', quads, tanks and other unusual vehicles.
Half day sessions last around four hours and give you:
- Introduction and Safety Brief
- Six laps in the Subaru Impreza
- Six laps in the Mitsubishi Evo 8
- A session in a hatchback mastering handbrake turns.
- Two hot ride passenger laps
- Debrief and Driving Certificate
Full days last around seven hours and give you:
- Introduction and Safety Brief
- Twelve laps in the Subaru Impreza
- Twelve laps in the Mitsubishi Evo 8
- Two sessions in the hatchback mastering handbrake turns
- Two hot ride passenger laps
- Debrief and Driving Certificate
Experiences run on Saturdays, selected Sundays and limited weekdays from late January to early December. AM and PM starts are usually available for half days.
The Stafford venue is an ex airfield track with a tarmac stage approximately 1 mile in length, driven by the Subaru and Mitsubishi. And a short rally stage used for the handbrake turn sessions.
Drivers must hold a full manual driving licence, be under 6'6" tall and weigh less than 18 1/2 stone.
Spectators are very welcome. There are onsite catering facilities, a children's play area, a picnic area and toilets at the venue. Spectators can enjoy a free 4x4 offroad experience and pay on the day for high speed passenger rides (subject to availability).
A free minibus service operates between Stafford Train Station and the venue between the hours of 07.45 and 17.45. If you choose this greener way to travel drivers will receive a £10 voucher and spectators a £5 voucher to spend at the venue. Optional cancellation policies (£20) and damage waivers (£20) can be purchased from the supplier when booking.
