What Can I Expect

See the sights on a Personal Transporter with this Segway Tour in Fort William! And when we say tour, it's not your average sightseeing jaunt. You will be riding your Segway around the paths and walkways on the Dragon's Tooth golf course estate, just off the main A828 between Oban and Fort William.

The Dragon's Tooth estate gets its name from the snowy peak of the same name, which is part of the Glencoe mountain range. We think there's nowhere more atmospheric to go segwaying than under the looming forms of these majestic hills around Fort William. The estate leads straight down to the loch, giving you the simply breathtaking backdrop of those imposing mountains and glistening water for your experience. And yes, plenty of stops will be made during your Seg tour so you can take pictures.

Of course, you will need to be proficient at handling these machines before you can go anywhere. That's why this experience starts with a training session on a designated teaching area. This is where beginners can learn about the controls and get used to the sensations of 'gliding' on your very own personal transporter.

The whole event is marketed as an eco-tour and rightly so, as the machines are driven by electric motors and powered by Lithium-ion batteries that can be recharged. This means they're silent, hugely energy efficient and very environmentally friendly. Perfect for a Segway tour that takes place at the tranquil loch-side setting near Fort William, far away from the noise of cars and the hustle and bustle of city life.

Indeed you will be spoilt in this magnificent part of the west coast of Scotland. This centre was the first to introduce the Segway to this region of the country and has long held a reputation for offering top quality equipment with the latest versions of the X2 model, all the safety gear you need and excellent tuition from friendly and enthusiastic staff.

Your Segway tour in Fort William will last around one hour, giving you plenty of time to have fun riding the Segways and take in all that gorgeous Scottish scenery that surrounds the village of Ballachulish. And we're sure your leader will be giving you a few anecdotes about history, wildlife and some funny Segway stories too as you head around the trail. A superb tour suitable for all abilities from the age of seven.
