Challenging 4x4 courses in Mid Kent near Maidstone with 200 acres of woods, fields and orchards to test your off road skills. Half day one to one training and 1.5 hour or half day shared sessions are available, giving you a range of experiences to choose from. All will test the capabilities of the four wheeled drive cars at this BORDA and LANTRA (the 4x4 driving associations) approved 4x4 centre.
1.5 Hour Shared Experience: On arrival you will be welcomed and given a short briefing on technique and a demonstration from your instructor in the vehicle before you get behind the wheel to tackle the specially designed off road challenge. Your instructor will be beside you, helping with advice to ensure you enjoy the experience to the maximum as you scale crazy gradients and negotiate axle-twisting cambers. The course has features that will provide a challenge for experienced off road drivers as well as for beginners. Groups of three will be in an exclusive party with their own instructors, maximum groups size three. Maximum 25 minutes drive time per person. Nationwide off road experiences are available within our main off roading section.
Half Day Shared Experience: After the welcome as above there will be a classroom theory session to cover the principles of off road driving and ensure that all participants are confident before setting off. You will be driving in groups of three plus instructor, with each person taking a turn at the wheel so you can all learn from each other's experiences. You will get at least 55 minutes personal drive time. Groups of three will be in an exclusive party with their own instructors, maximum groups size three. The activity will last between three and three and a half hours.
Half Day Exclusive: Details are as the Half Day Experience above but you will have exclusive use of the vehicle and instructor and you have the choice to use the session for 1:1 instruction or share with up to two friends who can either take a turn at the wheel or just come along for the ride.
The shared sessions run with a three drivers to one instructor ratio. On the 1.5hr experience you'll drive for around 25mins and around 55mins on the half day. The exclusive half day is on a 1:1 basis with around 3hrs of driving time which can be shared with friends.
These experiences take place on selected Saturdays.
Minimum age is 17 for the shared experiences and 11 for the Half Day Exclusive. All under 16's must be accompanied by a participating adult. Restrictions on exceptional height and weight may apply. You must arrive 15 minutes before your booked start time.
You may bring up to two non-participating people with you, but these activities are not good for spectating as views over the 4x4 driving areas are not good. The venue has a central meeting room with tea and coffee available to purchase, toilets and changing area. You are welcome to bring a packed lunch with you and in summer picnic tables are provided outside. There is a good range of pubs, cafes and restaurants in the town nearby and a good range of accommodation close at hand and the operator will be pleased to recommend places to suit different budgets.
