This 4x4 discovery day is a great value way to get behind the wheel of a 4x4 at this small and friendly centre just off the M4 near Reading in Berkshire. Please see our main off road page for other venues. 

Using a Land Rover Discovery, you'll have a short safety briefing before heading out in the 4x4s to discover what it's all about. As part of a small group, you will have around 50mins of personal driving time and for the rest of the session, you can observe as you ride as a passenger.

Before being transformed into town-dwelling SUVs, 4x4s were the automotive workhorses of the countryside trails and you'll have the chance to discover what they were really intended to do on this day out! You'll hear all about approach and depart skills, the importance of ground clearance, differentials and axles.  

Kids 4x4 Safari's in Berkshire are also available.

Your experience will last around two hours and includes a welcome briefing, introduction to the vehicles and approximately 50 minutes of drive time per participant under the guidance of a BORDA approved instructor. Sessions are shared with a maximum ratio of two drivers to one instructor, you will ride as a passenger and observe whilst others drive.  Complimentary refreshments are provided on arrival.


Sessions are available on selected weekdays and weekends all year round. Land Rover Discovery off roaders are used.  Please note your voucher must be redeemed by 30th June 2012.


Full valid driving licence. Please bring suitable outdoor clothes and wear sturdy boots in case of mud. There are no height restrictions - if you can drive a standard car you can drive an off roader. 


Spectators are welcome to watch free of charge. A small charge may be made for refreshments for spectators.
