This unique single seater experience takes place on the UK's only banked oval circuit. Crowned as Europe's fastest motor racing circuit, this purpose-built 1.5 mile oval hosts a professional US style stock car racing series who lap at speeds of up to 170mph jostling for position just inches away from each other and the concrete walls that surround the circuit. You can also opt for standard circuit single seater racing at the same Northamptonshire venue.

Your ride for the day is a lightweight, aerodynamic single seater set up to represent the handling of a US style champ car. 115bhp doesn't sound a lot but weighing, in at around half the weight of an average road car it produces performance figures that would hustle a Ferrari achieving 0-60mph in 4.8 seconds and a top speed of 145mph.  If you are brave enough, you can experience lapping this unique four turn motor speedway at flat out speeds!

Don't be fooled into thinking that driving an oval is like being in an oversize Scalextric set, each of the four corners is quite different and in order to get the best lap times you will have to learn the fastest lines linking one corner seamlessly into the next.  It sounds easy, but driving consistently for over 20 minutes at speeds above 130mph just inches from the ground whilst fighting the lateral g-forces created as you turn through the banked corners requires concentration, stamina and nerve. 

The car: 1800cc single seater racing car, 115 bhp, 0-60 4.8seconds 

There is a 20 min briefing before you head out onto the 1.47 mile long oval circuit for approx 20mins of driving time. Please allow 2 hours at the venue. Your experience ends with the presentation of personalised certificate. You can usually purchase action photographs of your driving action, subject to availability. Sessions usually run at twice a month on selected Saturdays, March to November. All laps are paced by an instructor.


Spectators are welcome to come and watch. The circuit boasts excellent viewing facilities, including the chance to watch participants in the pit area. There are excellent hospitality/toilet facilities, with refreshments available for purchase throughout the day. Pay on the day experiences are usually available to purchase at reduced prices, including high speed passenger rides, single seater experiences and supercar drives.


You must have held a full UK driving licence for over a year, which should be brought with you on the day. Minimum height is 5'2", maximum height is 6'4". Maximum weight is 18 stone. Participants should wear flat-soled shoes, long sleeved top and trousers.
