This junior off road driving experience takes place on a 40 acre site in the North Yorkshire countryside,  it's specially aimed at youngsters who are keen to have a go behind the wheel of a proper 4x4 vehicle.

The experience starts with a safety briefing and a short explanation of how 4x4s work, before the juniors head off on their 4x4 driving session. All tuition is done on a one to one basis, so youngsters have the undivided attention of the fully qualified off road driving instructor for the entire time they are behind the wheel negotiating the challenging off road obstacles.

In total, these junior off road driving sessions last one hour. At this particular venue, the driving time can be shared with another youngster for a fee of £25, payable locally. There are no age restrictions at this centre, they just need to be tall enough (5ft) to be able to reach the pedals!

Sessions are on a 1:1 basis and last one hour including an initial safety briefing and short explanation of how 4x4 vehicles work. For an additional fee of £25 the driving can also be shared with a friend. All tuition is under the guidance of experienced and qualified instructors. Each session will be tailored to match the ability and enthusiasm of the driver. Driving certificates can be provided at the end of the session.


Weekends and selected weekdays throughout the year. Morning and afternoon sessions are usually available.


A 40 acre off road driving centre near Thirsk in North Yorkshire. There's a wide range of terrain including water splashes, side slopes and steep climbs and descents.


There's no minimum age limit, however youngsters must be able to reach the pedals and see over the steering wheel. No previous driving experience is required.


Due to the off road nature of this activity it is not suitable for spectators, passengers can ride on board or share the driving for an extra fee of £25 payable on site. Snacks and drinks are available to purchase.
