This First Drive centre has been teaching drivers for over 20 years in safety of the offroad centre near Epping in Essex. Under their expert tuition you will have fun but most importantly will learn valuable practical skills that you can put into practice when you start to learn for real.
The two hour course starts with a short safety briefing for participants and parents, you will then move out onto the airfield site in one of the school's VW Golfs. You will share the vehicle with two other drivers, each spending around 40 minutes at the wheel rotating through a variety of simulated situations. The driving session starts with an introductory session working out the controls of the car.
After mastering the basics of safely pulling away, changing gear and stopping in a straight line you will be introduced to cornering. Reversing and parking skills are then covered as you get to practice some tricky manoeuvres without the fear of causing damage to your own or other vehicles.
As your skills and confidence increase you will soon be able to experience how the balance of the car changes whilst negotiating a slalom course and when braking from higher speeds. Your experience ends with an overall assessment of your performance and presentation of certificate. IntotheBlue offers a great selection of gift experiences, please visit our main
