One to one and shared group Skid Lessons in West Sussex. These courses are ideal for any driver wishing to increase their awareness of and driving ability in slide, skid and emergency brake situations. Lessons are given by a highly experienced advanced driving instructor who will put you (and the car) through your paces.

Every session covers front and rear wheel skids, plus those all important braking techniques which will help you control the car on the school's extremely slippery skid pan. There are no cradles involved here, it's all done in the set up of the Three series BMWs that are used. These rear wheel cars are capable of simulating the kind of skids you might experience at high speeds, even though you are only travelling at around 10mph on the wet skid surface. This system ensures complete safety whilst you skid during the lesson, whilst enabling you to gain confidence.

You will have your own instructor on the one to one experience for one hour of intensive instruction using one the schools special vehicles, with around 50 minutes at the wheel. The aim is to maximise your time in the car, so after a short welcome and briefing it’s time to head out onto the purpose built skid pan to learn and practice different techniques that are required for different simulated driving situations.

On the small group session you will be part of a group of up to six skid drivers. This experience lasts a total of three hours and gives you a total of around 30 minutes at the wheel of the BMW, with each driver taking it in turns. Being part of a group makes the whole thing great fun (you'll be a back seat passenger as well), yet you will be learning valuable driving techniques which might one day save lives out on the open road.

All skid lesson in West Sussex include a safety briefing before you set off to the skid pan, as well as a demonstration by your instructor driver, so you know how the car will react on the special surface. At the end of your session you will be presented with a certificate to remember your slippery, slidey driving day out near Chichester.

The shared Skid Control Course lasts approximately three hours with a ratio of 6 students taking turns behind the wheel. You can expect around 30 minutes of drive time per person. This venue uses rear wheel drive vehicles on a low grip skid pan, cradles are not used.

The Intensive 1:1 Skid Control Course last one hour. After a short briefing you can expect to be out on the skid pan for around 50 minutes. This venue uses rear wheel drive vehicles on a low grip skid pan, cradles are not used.

Courses run most weekends.  Not available from last week in August to end of September. Other skid control venues offer alternative opening times. Please check our main skid control section for more information.

Not sure if he was trying to say something about my driving, but my husband bought me this skid control experience for my birthday. I just wanted to say I loved it! Thank you. This is third Into the Blue experience our family have enjoyed.
