This Skid Control activity near Corby in Northamptonshire aims to be both fun and educational as you are put through your paces in the specially adapted skid control car. The technology used allows the instructor to simulate loss of control in the skidcar - but don't worry, the instructor will also teach you just how you can regain control in a variety of situations - from aquaplaning to driving on ice!

Following registration in one of the circuit's hospitality suites, your skid control driving experience starts with a safety briefing and theory session. You'll then be taken to the skid pan area, where you can expect around 30 minutes of actual driving time with the instructor.

Your skid control experience in Northampton ends with a debrief and presentation of certificates and as a memento of your superb driving technique, you can buy action photos from your experience, subject to availability.

You'll spend approx 30mins behind the wheel of the skid control car on the tarmac skid pan. The number of people on each session will vary, but you will share your car with up to two other participants. This venue uses cars in specially designed cradles to simulate different driving situations.

Rockingham circuit near Corby, Northants.


A full, valid driving licence is needed. Minimum height is 4'10", maximum height 6'6". There is maximum weight of 20 stone.  Participants should wear flat-soled shoes and comfortable clothing.


Spectators are welcome, the circuit boasts excellent viewing facilities, including the chance to join participants in the pits area. There are also good hospitality/toilet facilities at this skid control centre in Northamptonshire including refreshments which are available for purchase in the hospitality area. There is usually a range of pay on the day activities including high-speed passenger rides in a two-seater racing car, subject to availability.
