The family quad treks are open to anyone over the age of 6 who is accompanied by a participating adult. It's a great way to learn if it's your first quad bike experience as each trek is geared towards you, so no-one in the family will be left behind as you head through winding woodland, dirty puddles and even over a few roots and rocks. Great fun for all the family.
Adults will love the powerful Can Am quad bikes and a full repertoire of woodland trails, mud pits, water pools and steep drops deliver a thrilling quad bike experience in Newcastle. You will pilot your ATV around the Northumberland countryside surrounding the Edwardian mansion house hotel where this quad biking centre is set.
Over 16's should select the Adult Quad Experiences, family groups with a mixture of adults and kids between six and 16 should select the Family Quad Trek option. Exclusive kids' treks are also available at this location and can be found in our 'Just For Kids' driving section.
Your experience will last approximately one and a half hours including a short safety briefing and introduction to quadbike riding. You’ll be part of a group of up to five riders each with their own 250cc Can Am quadbike led by a qualified instructor. Safety helmets, goggles and overalls are provided. The venue is usually open 7 days a week with sessions starting every hour and a half from 10am to 4 pm.
Slaley Hall, an Edwardian Mansion set in 1000 acres of Northumberland moorland and forest. The venue is near Hexham, around 20 miles to the West of Newcastle upon Tyne.
Minimum age is 16 for the Adult Trek or 6 for the family trek. Maximum group size is 5. Family groups with under 16’s can be accommodated as there are 90cc machines for 12-15 year olds and 50cc bikes for 6-11 year olds. No previous experience is required. Family groups can usually book a session to enable the route to be tailored to suit younger riders. Family groups must include at least one participating adult. All riders must demonstrate safe control of the bikes before taking part in the trek.
There is a wooden cabin onsite with toilet facilities. The activity isn’t suitable for spectators however non participating guests are welcome to wait at the cabin. There is a hotel adjacent to the activity centre with luxury accommodation, bar, restaurants, Spa and golf courses.
