Have a Hovercraft Blast in West Sussex! This session will give you a superb introduction to the mad world of hovercrafting. Ever since we saw these things cross the Channel we wanted to pilot one and now you can with this fun hands on experience near Crawley.

You and your fellow budding hoverers will be met at the venue and as introductions are done you will hear a little bit about how hovercrafts work and be shown the controls. These personal hovercraft rigs are small, agile, fast and pretty noisy too, so it'll be a challenge to see if you can get to grips with one!

During your hovercraft blast hour at the venue you will take it in turns to have a go at various skills tests designed to improve your piloting technique. After a while you should be starting to get a feel for the craft and being able to fling it into (and out of) corners with a good slide, all to get that unmissable feeling of floating on a cushion of air.

- Welcome and introduction
- An instructor is in the hovercraft with you as you drive
- You will spend a total of 10-15 minutes in the craft
- You may be part of a group of 8 other participants
- Allow for one hour at the venue
