This hotel has been converted from a private Edwardian country house and wows everyone from the moment they enter the hall (the very first you see is the impressive carved mahogany fireplace and the colourful Wellington boots!). Afternoon tea is served on the terrace on fine days, or the verandah, in the wraparound conservatory, or in front of the log fire in the lounge on colder winter days. 

Your Lake District afternoon tea includes delicious luxury sandwiches, home-made sultana and plain scones with jam made from local damsons and served with clotted cream, cakes and fruit compotes, all accompanied by your choice of cafetiere coffee or a freshly brewed pot of loose tea.
